This an exciting opportunity for a Senior/Lead Project Engineer role based in Baton Rouge, LA. You will be responsible for support of the PMT Integrated Supply Chain Engineering Organization by developing and the coordination of accurate and timely capital cost estimates.
Prepare and support various classes of capital cost estimates in support of Honeywell’s Front End Loading processes to be used for economic evaluations by Program and Business leaders to achieve business objectives.
Ensure all project estimates meet Honeywell estimating standards for accuracy and follow Honeywell estimating best practices.
Support benchmarking activities to capture project quantities and estimating metrics.
Manage 3rd party engineering companies in the preparation of cost estimates as required, ensure their use of Honeywell best practices and standards.

YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration
10+ years of experience in Industrial Estimating environment (refining, petrochemical, or chemical industry)
Recent experience using Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE) software
Strong management operating system that facilitates communication
Knowledge of global economic trends and execution methods that affect project capital costs
Familiar with multi-discipline engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical and Instrumentation) for estimating
Contribute to improvement of Cost Estimating Work Process and leveraging of learning experiences
Evaluate project deviations to provide data to leadership for proper decision making
Validation of estimates to ensure scope and execution plan are accurately reflected in the project estimate
Professional membership/Certification with AACEI or PMI
Previous estimation skills in Petrochemicals or EPC environment
Proactively build and maintain effective relationships, working constructively with others to efficiently achieve required business outcomes within agreed timeframes
Skill to influence others to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches. Regular coaching and mentoring of team members to solve problems, be agents for change and build capability
Good oral and written communication skills, comfortable communicating among multiple functional levels within the engineering organization
Ability to deliver estimates, monitor progress, and effectively engage resources to achieve required outcomes within agreed budget and timeframes
Ability to analyze scope and identify missing items. Willingness to follow up with appropriate individuals on project team to address gaps
Ability to develop clear & organized estimates with sound basis
Ability to apply judgment when checking estimates and explain variances
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings such as P&IDs
Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
Ability to provide quantity take-off as part of estimate devliverables
SAP experience is preferable
