Our team is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Palliative Care Counseling department at St. Joseph Hospital of Orange. This is a part time, 10-hour weekend day shift.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Independently use the nursing process to care for a group of patients safely, therapeutically, and efficiently.
Use information from a variety of sources, including Jean Watson's Theory of Human Science and Caring to assess, plan, implement, identify outcomes, and evaluate patient’s plan of care.
Oversee the duties and competencies of the healthcare team; these include the performance of nursing assistant duties, clerical, food service, and environmental services duties as applicable.
Practice in accordance with all regulatory, professional, legal, and hospital policies.
Consistently demonstrate behaviors that model the SJHS core values and the Hospital’s mission statement.

Qualifications and Skills needed for this role:
At least (1) one year of acute care experience as a Registered Nurse in a Palliative Care setting.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or currently enrolled in an accelerated program towards BSN/MSN.
Must hold a current California Registered Nursing License.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers.
Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with patients, patients' families, and ancillary departments.
Adequate math skills and basic computer data entry skills.
Ability to coordinate and delegate team activities.
Flexibility to adapt to new and changing situations.
2+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a Palliative Care setting.
