STARTING PAY:
- $18.00 - BASED ON EXPERIENCE

JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Downloads laser programs and modifies them, as needed, to optimize performance and part yield.
- Locates and verifies material required to produce parts per shop order, may recommend material sheet change to optimize
- part yield or to take advantage of drop-off material.
- Enters machine settings for laser cutting operation to ensure correct lens, nozzle, assist gases and laser head are in place.
- Monitors equipment performance throughout cycle to ensure optimal operation of laser and reports to Supervisor any
- maintenance needs. Inspects and measures parts to maintain quality records including verifying setup piece and when required, submission to
- Quality for first article inspection or other required quality procedures.
- Observes levels of assist gasses and changes tanks as required.
- Deburrs parts or performs other secondary operations during machine cycle, when needed.
- Maintains accurate counts of parts; attaches labels or tags to finished part containers identifying customer, part number,
- quantity and shop order information.
- Utilizes the data collection system to accurately record production activities including time spent, quantity produced and
- any rejected parts.
- Communicates with supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate job activities.
- Follows all safety procedures and wears safety equipment or apparel as required.
- Performs all job functions to meet acceptable quality and performance standards.
- Ensures on a daily basis that the work area is clean and orderly including machine, tooling and workstation.
- May be required to follow other job-related instructions and duties, as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing related education or work experience operating and setting up cutting lasers
- Basic print reading and shop mathematic skills
- Ability to use a micrometer and caliper for inspection
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working with Prima Power and Trumpf equipment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Exert 50 pounds of force occasionally and 25 pounds of force frequently.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to communicate with others and accommodation as required to listen to equipment and monitor paging system.
Accommodation as required for reading documents, prints, computer screens, and quality instruments.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Typical metal manufacturing environment with exposure to powder coat paint facility. Active work that primarily involves walking, standing, bending and lifting.
