Souder Masonry and Concrete, a Family owned and operated Construction Company in Central FL, is looking for an experienced Controller to add to our team in our office in Debary, FL.

Primary Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):

  • Perform all functions of a Full Charge Bookkeeper and Controller
  • Perform all A/P management making sure bills are paid when required and recording these entries into the accounting system.
  • Perform all A/R management and Collections
  • Meticulously keep Accurate records of financial transactions and maintain general ledger
  • Create financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Retainage, P&L, etc...) using Foundation accounting software
  • Manage the basic cash flow of the business
  • File NTO for projects
  • JOB COST REPORTS
  • Process weekly payroll for all employees
  • Complete Bank reconciliation
  • Maintain the chart of accounts
  • Calculate and track Overhead and Burden rates
  • Track cash balances and cash flow forecasts
  • Maintain proper insurance and workers comp requirements
  • Develop, improve and issue timely monthly financial records and Report Directly to the Owner
  • Assure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals
  • Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc. when necessary
  • Manage commercial banking relationships to facilitate an appropriate credit resource under highly competitive terms
  • Assure that assets are not awkwardly encumbered with personal guarantees or unrealistic commitments
  • Manage security, computer services, and building maintenance and supplies
  • Issue timely and complete financial statements
  • Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
  • Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
  • Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
  • Calculate and Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
  • Provide for a system of management cost reports
  • Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and occasional contract negotiations
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Other duties as necessary

Specific Requirements:

  • Foundation Software experience
  • CCIFP Certified
  • 5+ years of construction accounting
  • Bachelors Degree or Higher
  • CPA License Preferred
  • Must excel at collecting money and making sure we get paid
  • Comfortable threatening to file liens on projects where GC's and Owners don't want to pay
  • Familiar with NTO, NOC, Lien Releases and lien laws
  • Minimum Required Office hours are 8am-5pm M-F and additional hours and weekends when required
