Reporting directly to the CIO, the Chief Technology Officer’s role is to align technology vision with our business strategy, by integrating appropriate technologies in the company products and services. In this role, you would be responsible for working with the Black & Veatch business to develop technology initiatives within the organization and provide direction in all technology-related issues in support of the company strategy.

In Addition, You Will participate in Strategy & Planning, IT Investment Management, Operational Management, and Additional Responsibilities which include:
IT Investment Management
Assess and communicate risks associated with technology-related investments
Support the development of cost/benefit analysis for technology spending and initiatives
Lead governance processes of direction and control to ensure the objectives are achieved
Define requirements for new technology implementations and communicate them to key business stakeholders
Establish key performance indicator and regular metric based reporting
Define standards, policies, procedures, measures, and organization enhancement to meet company goals for technology
Serve as liaison to ensure alignment and clarity across key stakeholders and lines of business
Create agendas, deliverables and messaging for IT Governance meetings and forums
Working with stakeholders to develop goals/outcomes sought and execute against them
Develop and lead key global initiative(s) assigned by CIO and Business Technology Council
Ensure that teams are working against strategic timelines and priorities by following up on priorities and action items in a timely manner
Compose executive reports and presentations
Interface with Finance to guide IT investment activities
Support investment tracking and develop reporting and variance analysis
Serve as liaison to Business Technology Council (BTC) to ensure alignment and clarity across key stakeholders, committees and lines of business – act as collaboration entry point for BTC
Respond appropriately to special needs and requests
Supervises work of others. Responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of their subordinates.
Understanding of a broad range of technologies at the architecture level and at a business process/impact level. These include but are not limited to systems for enterprise work process, mobility, data management and cloud-based computing. Must also be able to effectively communicate technical concepts to executives and general audiences.
Bachelors Degree required, Masters Degree a plus
At least 10-15 years minimum of similar experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven track record in strategic technology planning, execution and policy development
Leadership orientation and respect for discretion. Must be able to build consensus
Ability to gather, synthesize, and interpret operating and financial data and turn into compelling messages.
Experience in management or strategy consulting
Experience interfacing with and presenting to C-level executives
Experience in financial management, modeling, budget development and management
Experience in the EPC industry a plus

Strong communication skills; must also be able to effectively communicate technical concepts to executives and general audiences. Has experience interfacing with and presenting to C-level executives.
