DMI is currently seeking an experienced professional to fill UX / UI Designer position for a software mobile development team. The UX / UI designer will be part of a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary team focused on ensuring quality, compliance, and performance of the mobile application. Qualified applicant will provide support to both internal employees as well as external government customer. The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded UX Designer who connects the dots between business needs, innovation and good design. Your obsession with user-centric design principles, paired with your passion for visual design, make you the ultimate UX evangelist on your creative teams where you will collaborate with Art Directors, Content Developers, Strategists and Developers to create brand experiences that connect with their audience. You understand how to promote and use research to guide design decisions. You are skilled at driving a user experience from start-to-finish that delivers results, connects emotionally, and makes customers smile again and again.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with other creative teammates to form a multi-disciplinary team to create concepts, interface sketches, wireframes and prototypes.
Define user goals, user scenarios, feature benefits, and flows
Create conceptual designs and interactive prototypes.
Develop and document detailed user experience specifications for highly interactive interfaces. Deliverables include (but are not limited too) user stories, app maps, user flows, and annotated wireframes.
Communicate, specify and describe your designs to researchers, developers, testers, project managers, senior leadership and other designers without ambiguity and within deadlines
Participate in user research efforts and evaluate user feedback
Bring a user-centric design approach and attention to detail to all work you produce
Interact with client stakeholders to iterate and refine design
Ability and willingness to multi-task and work in an often fast-paced environment with deadlines
Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience in a technical or business discipline.
4 + years’ experience as a key, hands-on interaction/visual designer of a UI/UX team through the product development cycle of successfully launched web, mobile and software applications.
Advanced degree in Human Computer Interaction, Digital Media Design, Industrial Design, Fine Arts or a related field is desired.
Strong skills in visual design preferred.
Experience creatively solving hard problems; solving innovative and complex products within deadlines
Proven experience driving complex design issues across multi-disciplinary groups such as Development, QA, Program Management, other designers and research

Required Skills/Certifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter who takes initiative to get tasks done
Proficient with a range of interaction design, visualization, and rapid design prototyping tools including Axure, Sketch (prefered!), InVision, Flinto, and Principle.
Prior experience with agile mobile development a bonus.
Prior experience with VersionOne a bonus.
Proven ability to innovate for new markets
Collaborative team player who excels in a team environment

Additional Requirements:
Willingness to travel (up to 50%)
