Strategic Business Development Professional

RIE Coatings is looking for a Strategic Business Development Professional to further develop and expand our relationships with both key OEM and channel partner customers.

This position—which will allow the candidate to live anywhere in the Midwest region--will require experience as an independent business development professional who is used to working remotely and who is familiar with a self-directed work lifestyle. This business development position will have an expected travel commitment of 50-75% [primarily domestic travel].

Your basic responsibilities:

  • Develop customer profiles that details the customer’s products, end markets and growth potential while identifying the key decision makers
  • Drive sales growth for identified channel partners and OEM customers by identifying opportunities to use RIE’s products and services to create value for those customers
  • Using sales presentation skills along with company resources, including the plant’s technical team, provide technical solutions to customer’s application or performance issues
  • Generate and follow up on RFQ’s.
  • Build relationships with existing clients while searching for similar partners and customers.

Your Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 3 years successful sales experience working with both OEM and Distribution/Sales channels.
  • Experience working with a CRM or equivalent sales pipeline management software
  • Ability to work independently to drive sales and growth of the business
  • Documented history of success [sales growth and expansion] in a similar role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in coatings, chemicals, engineered or technical products preferred.
