This leadership-based role will empower the right individual to lead the care, maintenance and ongoing planning for our beautiful multi-acre campus. This is a full-time position which includes oversight of other maintenance team members and collaboration with the school’s leadership team. VIMSIA Facilities Director
- VIMSIA Facilities Director (Full-Time, 12 month position)
- Part of Leadership Team/mission; works closely with Head of School
- Entire campus oversight and knowledge; ownership and pride
- Direction and accountability for others on campus crew, including maintenance persons, custodians, landscapers, ect
- Oversight of all campus vendors and contractors who work with the school
- Creates and ensures regular maintenance calendars for all infrastructure
- Care and regular maintenance for all generators and school van
- Arranging crew responsible for daily opening/closing of campus facilities
- Create and maintain a system for inventorying school tools and equipment
- Oversight of campus costs and budget related to facilities and maintenance
- Leadership for storm preparation and recovery efforts
- Help HoS and BOT plan for outside threat protection and campus safety
- Pre-construction involvement in planning for long-term campus rebuild
- Other duties as decided upon/discussed
- Specific Skills:
- General knowledge of Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC
- General knowledge of water pumps, cisterns, and water collection systems
- General knowledge of the operation and maintenance of standby generators and/or the ability to learn quickly
- General handyman skills and the ability to creatively fix various items, including light carpentry and construction
- Knowledgeable in various preventive maintenance measures required to keep equipment in operation
- Able to effectively communicate with campus staff and outside vendors
- Strong organizational skills, technology skills and ability to prioritize tasks
