Customers will explore hundreds of products from the most innovative brands in appliances, cabinetry, fixtures and more.
The Design Center Will Call Specialist is responsible for coordinating the fulfillment of customer Special Order Will Calls. It is essential that the Will Call Specialist gains familiarity with the products, product location, systems and the The Home Depot Design Center (HDDC) consolidation center layout to provide the most efficient and highest quality service to our customers. The timeliness of contacting customers concerning fulfillment of their ordered product will impact the overall customer service experience for HDDC customers. This role offers front end support, including greeting customers and processing sales/returns transactions. The level of service the Will Call Specialist provides is vital to the overall business of the HDDC, they may be the last associate to interact with a customer. Occasionally this role may be asked to provide backup to the Logistics Specialist role in helping schedule deliveries and appliance installs. Maintaining a high level of professionalism and building relationships while working with Order Management Specialists, Logistics Specialist and all HDDC associates is essential, and effective communication is key. Following Home Depot’s safety policies and procedures are critical to performing the duties of the Will Call Specialist. Each associate has the responsibility of providing a safe working environment by following all safety policies & standards, completing specified training, immediately correcting hazards & unsafe conditions or reporting conditions to the Manager On Duty (MOD), and working safely as not to endanger themselves, co-workers, vendors, or customers.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
90% - Schedules/prioritizes all pick-up orders and communicating any availability and/or limitations to fellow Associates so the best possible service is maintained, by setting realistic expectations; Maintains/files all order paperwork and electronic correspondence for each HDDC pick up order; Answers inbound calls from customers who have been referred through a store associate, internet lead or other source; Confirms scheduled appointments by validating appointment date/time, address, phone number; Resolves client complaints or involves the appropriate manager to ensure customer satisfaction; Reschedules pick-up appointments & cancel, if necessary. Keeps customer updated on any related changes; Ensures paperwork/contact information is available for each scheduled pick-up order; Follows up with clients via telephone when appropriate
10% - Cooperates with other Associates to complete tasks. Partners with HDDC Leadership/Sales departments to assist with order fulfillment; Routinely develops skills in related areas of expertise; Proactively seeks knowledge on all HDDC products and services

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
