How You'll Make a Difference:
Promotes the mission, vision and values of Aurora Psychiatric Hospital through the management of human, fiscal and material resources. In collaboration with the management team, plans, organizes, coordinates, directs and evaluates the clinical practice of designated programs and services. Duties are performed according to established hospital policies, practices and performance standards established at Aurora Psychiatric Hospital.
Maintains an optimal level of productivity and quality patient care based on the coordination of an efficient interdisciplinary staffing pattern - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in all service areas. Coordinates outside agency personnel.
Acts as a liaison between medical staff and professional staff, serving as a problem-solver, mediator and catalyst for positive change. Collaborates with APH management team and staff to make decisions.
Participates in management team meetings and goal planning. Keeps management informed of occurrences and significant events of units/areas.
Allocates and coordinates program resources for referral, development and marketing activities.
Provides for the safety, security and confidential treatment of patients and staff. Ensures a smooth transition between all levels of care for the patient and their families.
Develops and maintains a referral base for designated clinical service area. Provides services to current referral sources to ensure their satisfaction and retention.
Coordinates efforts with the Medical Director and the Program Director to develop, implement and evaluate the clinical program. Analyzes statistical data on assigned programs to determine and respond to trends, preparing plans to remain a leader in the marketplace.
Rotates with other APH clinical managers in assuming Manager On-call responsibilities.
Participates in multi-disciplinary, cross-functional efforts to ensure high-quality, cost-effective systems and processes. Participates in planning to improve organizational performance; sets and adjusts priorities and allocates resources for improvement.
Responsible for the development, maintenance, supervision and evaluation of orientation, competency and continuing education programs for staff. Develops, monitors and assesses staff performance measures; participates in the performance improvement process. Develops staff competency; takes corrective measures to improve competency. Serves as a clinical resource person to staff. Evaluates the quality of patient care provided by all personnel.
What it Will Take:
Licenses & Certifications
Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Nursing.
Required Functional Experience
Typically requires 5 years of experience in diagnosis, treatment, evaluation and ongoing care of the identified behavioral health and chemically dependent patient population(s).
Required Management Experience
Includes 1 year of supervisory experience in management of staff and budgets.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities to accomplish objectives.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with leadership, physicians, and employees.
