Lockheed Martin Energy is seeking a product engineering manager for our expanding energy storage business. LM Energy provides distributed energy resources to utility, commercial & industrial customers. Among these solutions is our GridStarTM Lithium energy storage system that is a turnkey, factory assembled, outdoor-rated product with AC/DC protection, power conversion, energy storage, thermal management, and controls. The product engineering manager will be responsible for the technical development, certification, and performance objectives of the GridStarTM Lithium product line. This includes creating project schedules, task and project completion time estimates, and managing the development team to deliver projects on time and of high quality. Interested candidates should have extensive background in multi-disciplinary development of complex electro-mechanical systems with specific experience in product development, integration and testing, and sustainment.

Responsible for identification and development of methodology & tools to improve effectiveness & productivity of the organization. Provides for review and approval of technical approach, staffing requirements, and cost estimates for new tasks.

Responsible to lead technical team to create detailed engineering evaluations, analysis of failures and interruptions, design analysis and calculations, design for robust controls and SCADA.

Maintains relevant contacts within industry, universities, and customer areas. Provides a wide array of senior leadership support to programs, including technology and product roadmap, bid and proposals, red teams, pre-ship reviews, independent technical reviews, design assurance reviews. Manages all aspects of attracting, retaining, motivating, and developing employees; negotiates at different levels and across all organizational boundaries for appropriate staffing assignments. Must be an effective mentor and coach for a wide array of talent and experience levels. Also includes accountability for employee performance management, salary adjustments, promotions, personnel development plans, training, disciplinary actions, and terminations.

Expertise should include electrical engineering design with high and low voltage systems. Experience should include team leadership, staffing planning, task planning, and budget development, change management, system integration and testing, system verification and validation. It is desired the candidate have knowledge and experience in controls and SCADA, Li-ion batteries, power conversion systems, HVAC, and enclosure designs.

Position location: Dallas, Texas with periodic business travel to other locations
Desired Skills: M.S. Engineering, Science, or equivalent
Professional Engineer License
Technical leadership experience in Li-ion energy storage domain
Prior experience as a functional manager or program functional lead
Experience working with protective relaying and switching

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
B.S. Electrical Engineering
Experience with commercial energy technology, products, certification, or sustainment
Expertise with high and low voltage electrical systems
Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical systems/programs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-starter personality; ability to multitask
