Employee Benefits & HRIS Specialist

As the Employee Benefits Specialist, you will coordinate benefits activities including but not limited to maintaining eligibility lists, calculating premiums, maintaining an accurate census of employees, compliance and responding to benefits surveys. As the HRIS Specialist you will be responsible for the support and maintenance of various systems that make up the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) portfolio, including, but not limited to systems that support the following: Payroll, Personnel, Recruitment, Job Assignments, Performance Management, and Workforce Reporting.

Responsibilities include:
Leads the Benefit plan selection process and the annual open enrollment sessions;
Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information;
Performs quality checks of benefits-related data;
Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes;
Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility;
Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes as needed;
Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries;
Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA;
Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities;
Maintain and modify the HRIS systems, configuration, and end user access to achieve maximum efficiencies;
Provide support for HRIS, including researching and resolving HRIS problems, unexpected results, or process flaws;
Generates and manages reports; supports special projects and data requests. Provides support function in the areas of people metrics, reporting, advanced and predictive analytics;
Creates, maintains, and ensures quality assurance of key human resources data sets, reports, and metrics;
Set direction of data development and analysis, using data analysis to assist with decision making;
Serve as a key liaison with third parties and other stakeholders (e.g. payroll). Use project management skills in managing projects. May provide overall project management for a given HR initiative;
Responsible for ensuring data integrity and standardization by running queries and analyzing data;
Write, maintain, and support a variety of reports or queries.
Position Requirements

Successful candidates will have:
2 - 3 years of experience;
Working knowledge of employee benefits, HRIS, and federal and state respective employment laws;
Relevant industry experience a plus;
Excellent consultative skills;
Strong conflict management, interpersonal and negotiation skills;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Develop strong trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results;
Manage multiple locations and multiple conflicting priorities;
Be flexible; take initiative and available to interact with employees at all levels;
Be self-directed and motivated.
