The Sales Representative is responsible for identifying new business and growing current business in the assigned territory

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive sales through pre-call planning, post-call analysis and consistent follow-up
  • Implement sales plan and achieve sales goals and objectives set for the geographic territory
  • Target and secure new business accounts
  • Provide overall support and expertise to new & existing accounts
  • Educate customers on testing options
  • Partner with Account Managers and internal lab staff to ensure all client needs are met
  • Provide immediate support for client issues
  • Leverage all tools and resources (including data and target lists; marketing resources and laboratory resources)
  • Maintain a breadth of knowledge across the molecular and toxicology industry
  • Represent Assurance Scientific Laboratories with honesty and integrity in all work and interactions
  • Ensure compliance with company polices and government regulations
  • Complete all administrative tasks thoroughly and promptly
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth profile of each account to include customer preferences, competitive products and field intelligence, market activity, important contact/decision makers, and customer feedback
  • Plan effectively to maximize time in the field
  • Conduct strategic territory management and analysis
  • Account for all territory expenses and materials
  • Maintain knowledge of company products and competitive offerings
  • Perform other duties requested by management

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree required

Experience & Skills:

  • Proven track record of sales success preferred
  • Previous healthcare sales experience preferred
  • Aptitude for communicating scientific or technical information
  • Ability to identify new clients and strengthen existing clients
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Drive for self-development, the ability to collaborate, and an action-oriented work ethic
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel up to 50 percent of the time with potential for overnight travel and the ability to lift and/or more up to 35 pounds

Additional Requirements:

  • Candidate must have residency in close proximity of territory
  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable vehicle record
