The Research Analyst is a key member of the NBC Sports Group research team, creating actionable performance analysis to support all internal client groups, including Consumer Marketing, Programming/Scheduling, PR, Finance and Sales Planning.
Provide top line and detailed analysis of Nielsen audience data, highlighting the performance of NBC Sports Group and competitive sports networks including analysis of both local and national audience data
Collect, analyze and interpret both Nielsen and Digital data for recurring and ad hoc requests
Bring a fresh perspective to departmental daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting, helping to position analysis in a creative and concise manner
Manage distribution of daily reports, including coverage for weekend special events
Proactively contribute to the analysis and creation of ongoing departmental projects and presentations
Additional duties as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in Media, Communications, Statistics or related field
1-2 years’ experience in TV or Media Research
Prior experience with Nielsen systems (NPower, NNTV) a must
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and PowerPoint. Experience using pivot tables and writing macros a strong plus
Strong attention to detail and expertise in Media Math
Ability to analyze and summarize data, and to communicate findings clearly and concisely
Must have the ability to work independently to handle multiple assignments at once in a fast-paced environment
