Our Value Opportunity Analytics team seeks a Business Information Analytics professional to monitor medical service utilization and financial performance of our medical cost containment solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the business unit by transforming data into insights and monitoring program performance. Day to day activities include utilization analysis of our diagnostic imaging and other specialty medical products, pricing, and financial data analysis for current and prospective clients and discussing findings. This position pairs your expertise in SQL and Excel with your business acumen to draw insights from data and demonstrate the value of AIM Solutions.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Use SQL Server to query data warehouses.
Develop and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.
Use Excel, PowerPoint, and other tools to transform data into insights.
Analyses may be related to business opportunities, business performance, and monitoring activities.
Consolidates complex analytics into easy to understand presentations focused on business implications.
Presents findings to internal and external business partners.
May require taking business issue and devising best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking methodologies.
Identify trends and alternatives and resolve discrepancies. May recommend solutions at Sr and Consultant levels.
Conduct more in-depth analyses using more complex and varied metrics at the Sr level. Data analysis and reporting encompasses a much higher level of complexity at Consultant level.
Provide analytic consultation to other business areas, leadership or external customers at Consultant level Requires
BS/BA degree in related field; 2-4 years related operational and/or data analysis experience (3-5 years at Sr level and 5+ years at Consultant level); experience in database structures, and standard query and reporting tools; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred degree fields: mathematics, statistics, finance, actuarial science.
Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software required.
Expert SQL skills and experience with Microsoft SQL Server strongly preferred.
Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUPS and INDEX MATCH) strongly preferred.
Ability to manipulate large sets of data is required.
Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills at Sr and Consultant levels.
Bus Info Analyst II is more focused on technical expertise and analysis than Bus Info Analyst I.
Sr level is more focused on complex and varied metrics, making recommendations and providing assistance to staff than Bus Info Analyst II.
Consultant level is more focused on a higher level of technical expertise and mentoring more junior staff, and it involves more customer facing and collaboration activities. Work is higher volume, higher risk, and/or more complex than at the Sr level.
