Summary
We are seeking a Senior or recent college graduate for a fall Marketing Internship. creative werks is a leading design, manufacturing, and packaging company based in Chicagoland. We work with top 100 food brands to launch new products and bring ideas to market. This position is an exciting opportunity for a strategic-minded college student/recent grad to conduct research, analyze and study brands in the market place. This position reports to the Director of Marketing; it is a 3-month internship to be completed remotely requiring 15 – 20 hours a week.

Responsibilities of the Position
Study and record new product launches in the marketplace (brands and product lines will be specified by Director of Marketing)
Conduct research on prospects and current clients’ products in the marketplace and creative werks’ capabilities vis a vis competitors
Study creative werks’ capabilities and products we design, manufacture, and co-pack
Research current industry trends, insights, and competitor activations to keep creative werks up to date with what is happening in the industry
Perform field research in the marketplace and in the e-commerce space (Amazon, Walmart.com)
Examine brands’ product mix, retail position, price point
Enter competitive data into marketing database
Study, analyze, and draw conclusions from data gathered
Gather research on clients’ position and messaging across media platforms including: Instagram; Twitter; Pinterest; Facebook
Compare creative werks’ website and capability brochure versus competitors
Study brands campaigns for product launches and/or seasonal promotions on the PR News Wire; Social Media; brand websites
Report findings to supervisor on a weekly basis and keep time log of hours worked

Qualifications
Junior or Senior in college OR recent graduate majoring in Marketing, Communications, PR, Business
Curious, analytical, and passionate about the consumer goods industry
Self-motivated and able to work independently, has a car or access to transportation, and able to conduct research at major retailers (Walmart, Target, Kroger, CVS, Walgreens)
Familiarity with Excel and Word Suite

This position has the flexibility to work anywhere with preference in tri-state area within driving distance to Chicago-area
Position is $15 / hour and requires a 15 – 20 hours / week for 12 weeks

Food Safety Responsibilities
Attend all food safety training sessions (GMP, SQF, HACCP, Allergen, Food Facility Security, Preventing Foodborne Illness)
Participate in company GMP walks
Enforce company rules regarding food safety and monitoring
