Parkwood Behavioral Health System has provided behavioral health and chemical dependency services to the Mid-South region since 1987. We are located in DeSoto County, in the uppermost northwest corner of Mississippi and approximately 7 miles south of Memphis.

Parkwood Behavioral Health System includes a 148-bed inpatient acute and residential care facility, as well as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs.

Admissions Coordinator

We are currently seeking an full-time Admissions Coordinator who will facilitate the flow of organization information, provides a positive, responsive environment for receiving internal and external customers via telephone and face to face. This individual receives NARC calls and unplanned individual/family walk-ins with compassion, empathy, and a sense of service and urgency, and to insure each person receives an appropriate assessment by NARC or referral. The Needs Assessment Admissions Coordinator takes needs assessment calls, completes Inquiry Call form information, thoroughly and accurately documents calls and other NARC- related paperwork, and functions in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Parkwood Behavioral Health System.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirement for this position.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or Counseling.

Experience: One year of prior intake, assessment, admissions and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population is required. Inpatient Psychiatric experience is preferred.

Licensure/Certification: N/A

Knowledge: Prefer knowledge of crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnosis, symptomology, basis chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavioral management.
