Provide support to the project team for both Plaquemines 1 and 2 by maintaining a visible presence on the field performing site visits to the entire project being physically present in the field at a minimum of 65% of the time. Coordinate with Site Manager on daily activities and support.
Administrative tasks
Data entry in Gensuite; ATS action tracking system (corrective actions), Incident and measure, inspection tool in timeframes consistent with GE Expectations.
Create when needed register, Excel spreadsheet and power point presentations
Incident management, performance review, corrective actions
Track all related EHS hours through SmartSheet
Review a contractor performance once a month
Address and document corrective actions immediately and consistent with GE expectations. Ensure that a formal process is place when items found are corrected and tracked into Gensuite to completion.
Report immediately all incidents to the EHS manager and Project Director
In case of an incident, fill out an investigation form, including root cause analysis within 8 hours following the incident including pictures and chronological description of event and send it to the EHS manager.
Complete a flash report and support investigation within 24 hours following the event and send it to the EHS manager for review-work together on as needed
Contractor monitoring
Validate contractors are approved in Complyworks with current insurance certificates; follow GE EHS plan and implement any corrective actions identified.
Enforce GE Expectations. Report to site management and escalate as needed for continuing poor performance of Contractors.
EHS Plan
Review the EHS plan with the EHS Regional Manager as needed minimally. Post it in work location. Ensure that all workers and contractors follow the EHS plan and know GE requirements. Update with EHS Manager as needed or minimally on an annual basis.
Actively participate in bi-Weekly EHS committee, inform workers of the topics being covered and track them in Gensuite. Implement corrective actions if required.
The EHS site employee shall participate actively in documented weekly toolbox talk meeting and provide safety topic to the meeting. The topic shall be linked with site activities, corporate messages, near misses and other sites lessons learn.
Support and enforce Stop Work policy in place as per local legislation.
The EHS site employee is required to participate in any other meeting requested by the site manager or the EHS Manager and client.
Participate in monthly EHS corporate meeting and prepare update to corporate team.
Training management
Site Safety advisor must be trained in all EHS required training and required to provide GE orientation and other GE required trainings to site personnel.
Retain all training records from GE employees and contractors as well as keeping a training matrix up to date.
Deliver GE site orientation and safety training as needed on site.
Inspection and tooling calibration, PPE
Conduct in collaboration with contractors and supervisors weekly GPI’S and have them entered in Gensuite.
Quarterly inspection for lifting accessories and working at height equipment.
Risk assessment, ensure that specific risk assessment is done daily by all worker and when there is a change in task and updated as required.
Permit to work, must ensure that work permit is done properly meeting GE requirements, conduct routine validation that permits are utilized as required.
Additional tasks maybe required based on needs of the business.
Requirements:
OSHA 30 Certified
At least 3 years of experience in EHS in the industry of electric power, utilities, construction, manufacturing, or similar industrial sector.
Ability and willingness to travel 20% of the time, and must comply with all relevant company travel and tax policies
The ability to lift 50 pounds, move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces, work in extreme weather, wear personal protective gear, walk or stand for long periods of time
Desired Characteristics:
EHS experience that demonstrates growth and increasing responsibility.
Flexible and able to adapt to new EHS initiatives and projects.
Program experience such as electrical safety, lockout-tagout, hot work, working at heights, lifting and rigging, confined space, hazardous chemical management, etc.
