The purpose of this role is to lead the Corporate Technology strategy, architecture and roadmap at the Flight Centre Travel Group, Americas as well as play a key role in the global vision. The leader will create the vision and plan that will engage, align and inspire their people so that technology enables the business to attract, acquire, retain and grow customers.

The CTO, Corporate Applications will focus primarily on the design, development and implementation of corporate travel technology products with the Flight Centre Travel Group, supporting brands such as Corporate Traveler, FCm Travel Solutions, Stage & Screen and CiEvents. The CTO, Corporate Applications will be part of a global corporate Steering Group to ensure that technology requirements in the AMERICAS region are prioritised and aligned with global workstack items. As the key regional technical leader, the CTO will be responsible for understanding industry trends in corporate travel management and helping our business design, develop and implement technology solutions.

The CTO will work directly with our sales and account management teams to ensure that our business delivers these market leading solutions to new and existing customers, and ensure that the solutions are actively deployed and adopted by our customer base.

The role will focus on enabling our business & brands to maximise growth in total transaction value (TTV) and group profitability by leveraging the most suitable technology platforms. This will be achieved through maximising revenue, sales growth, gaining efficiencies through automation and AI, quality control, productivity and overall customer experience initiatives.

The role will lead and work with multiple stakeholders across data services, technology customer products, service delivery, solution design/support, the project office and all business stakeholders across brands and support functions.


Strategy, Architecture and Roadmaps

Develop strategy & roadmap for corporate applications
Define customer journey and identify opportunities for unique products that give FCTG competitive advantage
Communicates technology story internally and with customers at key events.
Deliver Technology products from conception to adoption by end user.
Leverage Products to drive new revenue streams.
Maintains focus on market technology trends & innovations
Manage continuous evolution on all product lines with 1 year and long range plans. Responsible for the end to end technical solutions across programmes or multiple projects.
Apply a structured approach and methodology for capturing the key views of the enterprise.
Innovation, Ideation & Continuous Improvement

Through in-depth understanding, research and engagement, develop innovate solutions to both customer and business stakeholders.
Investigate and evaluate new travel-related business technologies and technology developments and report on findings, focused on customer-facing solutions
Lead customer and stakeholders in the creative process of generating, developing, and communicating new ideas.
Strong ability to identify opportunities and develop from abstract to tangible concept
Optimise core platforms currently utilised through consolidation, system enhancements and simplification of use.
Simplify processes and procedures to reduce cost.
Automate, outsource and leverage new technologies such as AI to remove non-revenue generating activities.
Work with stakeholders to ensure core platforms deliver to expected performance and uptime

Customer Engagement

Lead or manage customer pre-sales engagements
Serve as a resource to help the teams make appropriate system and component level design decisions during implementation
Work through BDMs, AMs & Travel Managers to drive sales of tech products.
Work with CTSG on strategy to develop and deploy global products.


Create the right structure to engage, inspire and align your people to deliver an amazing experience to the brands and customers.
Engage directly with Product & Marketing to drive awareness of Technology Products.
Drive accountability with your team and stakeholders to deliver technology on time, in full and in budget.
Create and maintain a framework of visibility, sign-off, accountability and communication of progress of all projects
Work with key stakeholders in other brands, businesses and support services to ensure we use and/or sell our technology in a compelling way.
Collaborate with global stakeholders such as CTSG and the Global Product Management, CIOs, Security team, PMOs to achieve a win-win for FCTG Corporate and delivery of group strategy.

Development Management

Responsible for designing scalable, maintainable and cost-effective software solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements
Provide thought leadership on application architecture and standards used to develop solutions
Drive strong process framework to ensure effective outcomes (i.e. agile)
Review and evaluate the performance of the development teams, overall work completed and the individual performance of team members
Overall responsibility for project deliverables, budgets, schedules and quality
Oversee management of multiple complex software development projects
Develop new methods and new procedures for accomplishing work
Interfaces with all levels of management to negotiate project priorities and outcomes

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science or similar
Minimum of 5 years in leadership role
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Application Development role
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Travel Industry – ideally CTO

Location: Boston, MA (with frequent travel to Marlborough, MA)
