Accountemps has a temporary-to-fulltime opportunity available for an experienced, organized Senior Staff Accountant at a reputable Advertising company. As the Senior Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. You will promote the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will play an active role in compliance, collaborate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Key responsibilities

  • Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls under SOX accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
  • Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
  • Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision
  • Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and process payroll in-house
  • Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
  • Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
  • Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
  • Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

  • Payroll for 75-100 employees experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of journal entries
  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Current and relevant ERP system experience
  • Recent and relevant accounting experience
  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
