Position Summary:
The Global Continuous Improvement Leader is a new strategic position. He/she will lead the strategy and program development and implementation of DESTACO’s Continuous Improvement (CI) program globally. At the center of CI for DESTACO is the business operating system. The DESTACO Business Operating System (DBOS) is the company-wide production management system aimed at improving business performance. DBOS focuses on applying best practice tools to eliminate waste, become more efficient and effective in our work, improve productivity, and drive increased levels of customer satisfaction and total shareholder returns.

The Global CI Leader will coordinate and drive CI improvement programs (supporting DBOS) across DESTACO, aligning standards and goals globally. He/she is a change agent that leads the regions, sites and functions to implement standard processes, tools and systems to achieve high performance. He/she will support and mentor the regional and on-site CI practitioners to ensure they become expert leaders and champions of DBOS deployment and sustainability. The CI Leader will also have oversight of enterprise wide Quality.

The Global Continuous Improvement Leader will report to the Vice President, Global Operations & Supply Chain. The position is based in Auburn Hills, MI. Approximately 30-50% domestic and international travel is required. The position requires the ability to work and collaborate across all levels and functions within DESTACO and with Dover’s CI leaders.

Key Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop strategy, programs and implementation plans for DBOS deployment consistent with DESTACO’s strategic and operational priorities.
Coordinate global initiatives across regions and functions in order to embed a continuous culture across the organization and drive consistency.
Support, develop and mentor regional and site-based CI practitioners to enable them to succeed in the DBOS deployment.
Lead, manage and monitor communication and reporting of key performance indicators in partnership with operational leaders, including assessment of performance improvements, progress toward global standardization, and achievement in implementing Continuous Improvement and Quality tools and processes.
Design and convert the DBOS concepts and principles into process and organizational changes needed to support operational objectives and embed a lean culture.
Develop skill levels of lean practitioners and other site talent by coordinating CI training for employees at various levels and across functions.
Ensure DBOS standards are implemented consistently
Exchange CI best practices and share knowledge and expertise across the organization.
Benchmark with best-in-class companies and integrate best practices into DBOS.
Continuously improve tools, training, documentation, deployment methodologies to support DBOS.

Job Requirements:
7 to 10 years of experience leading continuous improvement required, preferably in a leading diversified industrial with a strong lean culture.
Experience in operations and supply chain in an engineered products manufacturing environment.
Previous experience in leading continuous improvement activities at a regional or global level.
Quality experience a strong plus.
Demonstrated success leading sustained, successful CI transformation with proven results.
Experience leading improvement projects in a multi-plant, manufacturing environment.
Experience working globally and cross-culturally.
Experience leading and developing global teams.
Experience successfully leading significant change.

Education and Certification Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required in business or engineering
MBA or Masters in Supply Chain Management preferred
Lean Enterprise Certification
Six Sigma Black Belt preferred

Travel Requirements:
30 – 50% mainly to DESTACO locations globally.
