Organization and Position Summary
Shrub Oak International School is a world-class, private, special education boarding and day school preparing students on the Autism Spectrum to lead more meaningful lives. Our innovative relationship-based model grounded in evidence-based principles builds on students' strengths and interests, maximizing therapeutic and learning opportunities. Our renowned experts work with students to individualize life and career development paths based on each student’s specific needs and interests. Each student’s team of clinicians, teachers, and campus life staff collaborate closely to address the student’s issues quickly and reinforce therapies and learning paths, so that the student progresses more rapidly. Our modern, technology-infused facility is set on 127 acres of agriculture and farmland where students learn in a natural environment full of sensory experiences. After a few years of operation, Shrub Oak will have more than 600 staff and 400 students.
Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, we seek a full time, client focused talent acquisition and HR business professional to support the exponential growth of our School. Understanding that every conversation represents our business, brand and culture, we seek a seasoned flexible part time professional with exceptional client service capabilities, to assist in areas including the following:
Talent Acquisition: Engage in high volume sourcing (together with full cycle recruiting activities) to attract, evaluate and hire the broadest and most diverse pool of campus and experienced talent to support, develop and build a strong bench into the future
Administrative Matters: Handle a wide range of HR support and administrative matters ranging from sourcing, onboarding, performance management, records and related employee matters
Project Management: Assist to build additional capabilities in Talent Management and Development, Engagement, to sustain a school aligned and engaged culture characterized by empowerment and continuous development
Skills and capabilities
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or relevant field
Min 4 years of prior work experience in a relevant field, with corporate experience a plus with a heavy emphasis on recruiting and generalist/business partner work
Ability to manage multiple assignments with competing deadlines, in a fast paced environment, with changing demands and priorities
Exceptional communication skills (both oral and written), with an ability to highlight the broader organizational impact, and develop strong relationships within and outside
Exceptional ability to read, understand and communicate with individuals at all levels
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
Team player with positive attitude and strong work ethic
Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound recommendations
Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically with a business mindset
Proficient to advanced MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), computer and a variety of programs and across videoconferencing software (Zoom, Teams etc.)
Position Hours and Compensation
The position is a full time role, which is a traditional 40 hours a week. Given the professional nature of the role, work outside of those hours may be needed and required.
