POSITION: Human Resource Director
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Human Resource Director reports to the President/CEO/ Chief Operations Officer. S/he will plan and manage recruitment and selection of staff; plan and conduct new employee orientation; identify and manage training and development needs for employees; develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices; implements human resources policies and procedures; ensure compensation and benefits are in line with company policies; handle employee complaints, grievances and disputes; review and update employee rules and regulations; represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations; coordinate employee safety, welfare and wellness; maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions. S/he will be responsible for reporting work related injuries and monitoring the status of employees on Worker’s Compensation. S/he will be responsible for OSHA logs Form 300, Form 300A and Form 301. S/he will perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of the principles and practices of HR management, business principles, relevant legislation and regulations. S/he must be knowledgeable of computer software relevant to human resource functions. Must be able to organize and plan; conduct problem analysis and problem solving; must have judgment, critical thinking, and communication and presentation skills. S/he must have integrity and persuasive ability.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a dependable automobile with insurance, and a valid California Driver’s License. Must submit to and pass a urinalysis test and a criminal background check as a pre-condition to employment.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field and five (5) years management/ administrative experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years experience in a broadly based management environment with a minimum of five years of senior-leadership experience supervising seasoned staff operating multiple human services programs.
