Your Role
As a Gensler architectural Project Manager for our Lifestyle 2 studio, which focuses on
hospitality
and hospitality-adjacent projects, you will leverage your attention to detail and interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional architectural projects on time and on budget. You will deploy resources to ensure that the work process flows smoothly and act as the primary liaison between the team and client. This is a great opportunity to join a highly creative, collaborative team while working on multiple trendsetting architectural projects simultaneously.
What You Will Do

Implement one or more client projects through the leadership of project teams.

Provide leadership to client and team by creating and communicating clear and attainable project objectives, contract scope, terms, and schedule

Manage all phases of design throughout project scope for small and large complex architectural projects, including project set-up and entitlements, design, and construction administration.

Manage project scheduling, budgets, and set-up with clients, sub-contractors, vendors, and consultants
-
Track and manage financial performance of project for success (e.g., work plan, schedule, fees, change orders, billings, and collections)

Manage project lifecycle; estimating, bidding, project kick-off, weekly coordination, punch list, turnover, opening, and project close-out

Prepare project team work plans and manage a range of project team sizes, comprised of project architects, interior designers, technical designers, and consultants

Ensure projects conform to contract

Actively lead teams for successful delivery of projects

Manage client expectations, team communication, and oversight of consultant coordination.

Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs.

Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships.
Your Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Interior Architecture from an accredited school
-
Minimum 7-10 years of related experience, including demonstrated success as a project manager on large complex architectural projects (hospitality preferred)

Experience negotiating project scope, fees, managing project financial performance, and ensuring fiscal responsibility for projects

Knowledge of building codes, standards, and building structures

Basic technical understanding of architectural, interior, and furniture design

Experience with project management software, such as MS Project, preferred

Working knowledge of Revit

Registered Architect or Interior Designer preferred

Strong abilities in managing fees, schedules, and staffing
-
Experience leading, managing, and mentoring multiple project teams
-
Experience negotiating project scope and fees

Experience with the entire project lifecycle and design process through post-occupancy
-
Proven fiscal accountability and responsibility on corporate interior projects
-
Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development

A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment

Excellent written and verbal communication and management skills to include leadership, organization and client relationship management skills

Collaborative and team-conscious

Ability to handle difficult situations with tact and professionalism

Must have the ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new client relationships

Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview
