We’re currently searching for a Claims Team Lead or Supervisor to join our dynamic team at USAble Life in Little Rock, AR.

The Claims Team Lead will:
Serve as a work leader for Claims Examiners responsible for processing claims.
Partner with management to select, train and develop a high performing team.
Provide direction, coaching and support, set expectations and manage the performance of the team.
Assist with the preparation of performance appraisals, promotion criteria and administrative action documentation.
Ensure exceptional customer service and high quality work from team.
Provide an additional level of expertise for escalated problem research and resolution.
Successfully lead operation and team and makes change in process, procedures, workloads and structure to optimize resources and achieve business goals.
Analyze claim file, management information and provide guidance to team on investigations, appraisals, liability, coverage and settlement techniques.
Collaborate with managers, examiners, insureds, claimants and attorneys to investigate and settle claims.
Help foster an environment in which continuous improvement in processes and services is recognized.

Essential Duties:
Oversee the daily operations of the claims examiners ensuring claims are processed accurately and timely. Process claims as needed to assist team to meet SLAs.
Performsclaim reviews and provides guidance to claims examiners. Review items for escalation and research.
Provide coaching and training to staff. Provide input to staff's manager/supervisor on staff performance management and appraisal process.
Research, plan and complete departmental reports on production and quality of staff.

The Supervisor-Claims will:
Supervise the daily tasks of the Claims staff.
Monitor and recommend adjustments to claim processing and operations.
Prepare performance review, promotion criteria and administrative action documentation; review with staff as necessary.
Review claims and release benefits.
Respond to customer inquiries and assists with escalated claim issues.
Work with vendors on claim questions, reporting or investigative issues.
Prepare reports on claim elements including turnaround time, error rates and workload distribution.
Define system requests to support the department.

Essential Duties:
Review and audit claim files and releases benefits of processed claims.
Respond to and assist with escalated claims issues.
Research, plan and prepare departmental reports.
Monitor Claims Analyst time management and work load distribution.
Coach and provide assistance and feedback to analysts and staff as needed.

Required Skills

Team Lead or Supervisor:
Knowledge of general accounting principals
General knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology
Life, Disability, and or Worksite claim experience
Customer service skills
Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to compose professional correspondence
Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to assist and guide others
Ability to mentor staff using appropriate tools and techniques
Ability to maintain attention to detail and a low error rate
Ability to set and prioritize tasks for self and assigned team
Successfully adapt new priorities and work within time constraints
Must be able to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects while leading a high volume, high accuracy work team composed of individuals having diverse personalities and work styles

Required Experience

Team Lead:
Basic Required:
Associate' degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
1-3 years prior claims experience working with all employee levels, particularly management, to influence strategy. Demonstrates coaching, mentoring and negotiation skills
Or equivalent military experience.

Preferred:
Bachelor's degree; Completion of LOMA 280 and 290
3 years in a related field including management experience

Supervisor:
Basic Required:
Associate' degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 2-3 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education or experience
4-6 years in a related field including 1 years experience as a Team Lead and or Supervisor; internal experience that is directly related to the job may be substituted for the supervisory experience requirements
Or, equivalent military experience

Preferred:
Bachelor's degree
Completion of LOMA 1 and 2
3 years in a related field including experience as a Lead or Supervisor
