Geriatric Attending Psychiatrist
UMass Memorial Health, the academic teaching hospital and clinical partner of the University of Massachusetts Medical School, is seeking a full-time, board-certified/board eligible Geriatric Psychiatrist for our Geriatric Psychiatry Unit at Clinton/Health Alliance Hospital, located in Clinton, Massachusetts.
The Geriatric Psychiatric Unit (GPU) is a 20-bed locked, acute geriatric psychiatric unit located on the 3rd floor of the Clinton Campus of the Clinton/Health Alliance Hospital. The unit has a long record of providing high-quality care to older patients with psychiatric illnesses, provides acute clinical care to geriatric patients challenged by significant mental illness and co-morbid medical conditions, and is a teaching site for residents and medical students.
Under the direction of the unit’s medical director, patients receive a complete clinical assessment including psychiatry, nursing, occupational therapy, and social work care, as well as limited referrals to other medical services depending on individual evaluations and treatment.
We are the largest provider of psychiatric services in central Massachusetts, with 375 faculty members and 12 hospitals and community mental health centers. As the clinical partner of the University of Massachusetts Medical School, you will have access to the latest technology, research, and clinical trials. A faculty appointment commensurate with experience is also available. Our physicians provide primary care and specialty services for both routine and complex health needs, and they practice at locations in Worcester and throughout Central Massachusetts.
