The Challenge

Are you a process Engineer Professional that would like to contribute to overall global customer satisfaction? Within DSM-Engineering Plastics- it is critical to maintain consistent product quality and testing methodology, allowing the organization to supply customers from multiple sites without issue.

The Position

  • Supports plant safety initiatives in daily operations
  • Performs all quality system procedures and requirements associated with the position.
  • Provides daily support within operations to resolve processing/product issues.
  • Measure/Monitors (ME/AU) operational performance (KPIs) and initiates continuous improvement activities (safety, quality, productivity) as appropriate per the data.
  • Develops, maintains and approves product/extruder processing parameters and performance standards.
  • Coordinates the efficient transfer of new products/processes from R & D to Production
  • Direct Customer contact including the coordination, investigation and resolution of customer complaints
  • Facilitates challenges and completes RCCA investigations/follow-up.
  • Responsible for capital improvements as necessary.
  • Provides technical expertise to other company personnel regarding products and processing,
  • Maintains detailed records on computer, and prepares and submits various reports as required
  • Provides backup for the reliability and upkeep of all control, instrumentation and power distribution systems throughout the plant including documentation backup and calibration specifications/auditing.
  • Assists in acquiring and qualifying new processing equipment and supplies, including locating, pricing, obtaining authorization and purchasing items as needed
  • Collaboration and Interaction with all internal functional groups, global functional groups, union/non-union personnel and outside vendors

The Ideal

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 2 years of process engineering related experience
  • Recent graduates with relevant internship or co-op experience will be considered
  • Availability to provide support 24/7 (must be accessible)
  • Functional knowledge and ability to make practical application of plastics properties and processing techniques.
  • Flexibility to change product and project ownership.
  • Working knowledge of QA testing and techniques in engineering plastics industry.
  • Working knowledge of relevant manufacturing safety requirements.
  • Working knowledge of statistical techniques and computer systems (SAP)
  • Working knowledge of relevant ME work processes
  • Availability to provide support 24/7 (must be accessible)
