Since 1987 we have been a Silicon Valley leader in precision machined components and electro- mechanical assembly. As a contract manufacturing company we service customers from various industries including semiconductor, automotive, medical , military and aerospace. Our expertise includes engineering, precision machined components and clean room assembly.

Calmax has an immediate opening for a Quality Technician.

The Quality Technician performs assigned tasks and activities assigned by the Senior Quality Manager. They are responsible for the maintenance of Quality Department data and information, data and information logs, related metrics, graphs, and clerical tasks, assigned tasks and projects related to product quality, the Quality Management System (QMS), and customer satisfaction. The person in this role will be responsible for collaborating with other departments and personnel.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Perform assigned tasks and activities of the Quality Department including but not limited to Quality data, product quality, the Quality Management System (QMS), and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and work accurately with close attention to detail.
  • Collect, maintain, review, monitor, storage and maintenance of Quality Department data, databases, logs, and related records.
  • Prepare and present Quality Department metrics, graphs, data, data analysis, and other related tasks.
  • Maintain data logs, action item lists and logs, and follow up and coordinate with related action item owners, departments, and personnel.
  • Monitor customer portals for defect reporting, data collection, monitoring, data management, and issue Quality Alerts followed up with related activities such as monitoring, containment, corrective action tasks and activities.
  • Participate in review and disposition of discrepant material through MRB, RMA, and Quality Dept. activities, tasks, and related data and records, as assigned.
  • Participate in, monitor, and follow up on internal corrective and preventive actions, as assigned.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to collect data, analyze data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to write reports, procedures and work instructions.
  • Assist Sr. Quality Manager, Director of Quality, Quality Engineers, and/or other assignments.
  • Maintain compliance with customer requirements related to product quality.
  • Assist in the completion of customer generated Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCARs, 8Ds, RCCAs, etc.), as assigned.
  • Perform quality audits and/or spot audits/checks, as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties, tasks and/or projects, as assigned*.

JOB QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent related experience and/or training.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • 2 to 4 years’ machine shop inspection experience and/or Quality or Mechanical Inspection.
  • Blue print reading with working knowledge of GD&T ( a plus)

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • The physical requirements described are representative of those in any typical manufacturing and office environment.
  • Noise level in the work environment is moderate.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
