This non exempt position for purposes of federal wage and hour law is responsible for operating industrial sewing machinery with the knowledge OR the ability to learn various seam methods.

Position Description: Following patterns and design specifications, draw cutting lines on material. Operate industrial sewing machinery with knowledge of various seam methods. Fit, install, and secure material on frames using hand tools, power tools, glue and staples. Other duties as required.

Ability to work with cordless/pneumatic and basic hand tools.
Knowledge of various seam methods (i.e., regular, top stitch, French)
Ability to lift frames or bases, pull and stretch material, and stand on feet for long periods of time.
Attention to detail and group problem-solving skills required.

High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. See level descriptions for additional details.

Heavy Work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
Frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
Required to walk.
Must be able to see close up and also at a distance.
Must be able to talk and hear.

Manufacturing environment may cause exposure to heat, noise, vibration, odors or dust.
Ambient temperatures.
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
The noise level is usually moderate but may be severe at times.
