Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The University of North Carolina Wilmington, North Carolina’s Coastal University, seeks a dynamic, collaborative, and experienced leader to serve in the role of University Registrar.
The University Registrar is responsible for managing the overall operations of the Office of the Registrar at UNCW. The Registrar Provides leadership in the administration of student records to include the planning, directing, and coordinating of the activities of the Office of the Registrar and the development, implementation, and maintenance of academic information systems and student support technologies. The Registrar oversees and ensures the integrity, security, and maintenance of all student academic records in compliance with university, state, and federal regulations.

Minimum Requirements
Master’s Degree and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in student records and registration management systems. Managerial and supervisory experience in a higher education setting.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and professionally with supervisees, peers, senior leaders, and key campus partners in achieving goals.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent leadership, vision, customer-service orientation, and technological skills to the Office of the Registrar.
  • Strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, collaboration, team-based decision-making, and collegiality.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Experience as a Registrar or Associate Registrar in a 4-year college or university.
  • Evidence of innovative thinking and experience with implementation of wide-scale initiatives.
  • Experience as an inclusive empowering leader, including team building, mentoring, and promotion of professional development activities.
  • Experience with Ellucian Banner as well as experience with course scheduling software, document imaging software, and customer relationship management software.
  • Active engagement in professional associations.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Office of the Registrar, a unit within the Division of Academic Affairs, supports UNCW’s mission by maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and privacy of the official academic record for all current and former students. The Office of the Registrar provides academic support services including academic records management and student services; degree and diploma processing; student academic information systems management; administration of regulations and policies of the Faculty Senate, academic eligibility of athletes and, as prescribed in the policies of the university and the Code of the University of North Carolina, maintenance of archives; and system-wide reporting of enrollment, courses and degrees awarded.
