About the Job:
The Leadership Development Program Manager is a key partner to the Senior Manager, Learning & Development in the creation and deployment of the leadership development strategy for leaders across the PetSmart enterprise. This position is responsible for shaping the leadership development strategy into deliverable solutions. This position will:
Design and develop leadership development programs, curricula and content that supports PetSmart’s business objectives through the development of exemplary leaders.
Own the diagnosis process of leadership development needs, in partnership with senior Home Office leaders, Field and DC leaders and HR Business Partners.
Build close, collaborative partnerships with internal partners in Organizational Development, Learning and HR.
Have a broad scope of influence over all parts of the organization through diagnosis of leadership-based challenges and recommendations for appropriate solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In partnership with the Senior Manager, Learning & Development, design and execute the leadership development strategy for leaders in our Offices, Field/Stores, and Distribution Centers.
Develop and deliver a variety of OD interventions and curricula utilizing performance consulting skills to ensure effective leadership development experiences are offered that result in measurable business outcomes.
Develop leadership training tools and materials such as instructor-led training resources (PowerPoints, Participant Guides, Facilitator Guides), job aids, eLearnings, etc. Ensures most effective method is utilized.
Facilitate leadership development and learning courses, workshops, events and activities.
Partner, consult and support business leaders and HR team members to identify individual and team performance needs and solutions that will increase managerial and leadership effectiveness.
Facilitate “Train the Trainer” sessions with L&D team and HRBP groups.
Coach leaders on 360 feedback and other assessment results, typically when connected to a leadership development event or program.
Manage and monitor vendor relationships, consultants, contracts as needed.
Select and manage evaluation strategies to evaluate program effectiveness, and uses analytics, statistics metrics and trends to modify or improve Leadership Development programs. Provides recommendations for improvement to leadership.
Create implementation and change plans for programs, ensuring high-quality participant experience, ongoing program sustainability and cost-effective use of resources.
Supervise the effectiveness and quality of logistic and participant enrollment processes, reconciliation of event expenses, and enterprise communication regarding leadership development programs.
Support framework for leadership acceleration through transitions, building team excellence, and driving individual leadership capabilities.
Support major cross-functional efforts such as leadership meetings, organizational change management, and culture efforts.
Partner with Talent Management to assist with the enterprise-wide competency model and related tools.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including overnight and international.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
BA/BS degree in Human Resource Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development (OD), Organizational Effectiveness (OE), Adult Learning, Leadership, Business or related field.
Master’s degree strongly preferred.
Human Resources, OD, or relevant field with 5-8 years of experience, preferably in a retail or consumer product company.
Demonstrated experience in the following, or equivalent combination of education and experience:
Ability to establish high level of credibility quickly; appropriate confidence to gain the trust and respect of key stakeholders and learners.
Anticipate and adapt to the changing needs of the business.
Strong facilitation skills, presence, poise, and persuasiveness.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong computer literacy and technical expertise with graphic design and eLearning authoring software.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite 5 (CS5) and Articulate Storyline strongly preferred.
Must have experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products.
Knowledge and experience developing eLearning courses, creative concepts, scripts and storyboards.
