Job Summary:

The PASER occupies and manages the front desk. This includes, but is not limited to, politely and efficiently greeting patients and visitors, answering the phones and taking phone messages for staff. The Paser will accurately enter information of patients in the EPIC system as it relates to the office visit. The Paser will collect insurance information and verify insurance, schedule and reschedule patients appointments. The Paser will chek patient in and out doing the office visit, collect copays and patient due balances. The Paser will do cashier report for reconcilitations at the end of each day. The Paser needs the knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.

Performance Expectations

Demonstrate the ability to use multiple office equipment and trouble shoot, including but not limited to the phone system, computer, fax, printer, credit card machine and copier machine.
Demonstrate the ability to collect and enter data to register a patient in the EPIC system for their appointment.
Demonstrate the ability to make patient appointment and check them in and out for their office appointment.
Demonstrate the ability to do upfront collection, including, but not limited to, running the credit card machine, handling checks, cash, receipts and cashier report and reconciliations at end of the day.

Qualifications:

Education/Skills

High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be computer literate. Must be able to type 30wpm.

Must be able to verify/pre-certify insurance benefits and make financial arrangements with patients or

guarantors before appointment.

Work Experience:

Experience in registration, customer service, credit or collections in a clinic or hospital setting required.

One-year experience as a Registrar in a clinic or hospital setting preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

None required.

Mental Demands:

Oral and written communication skills are important to relate effectively to supervisors, hospital

personnel, patients, and other third parties. The individual must have basic math skills in order to

perform the calculations for insurance analysis and proration. Individual must have a high

energy level and be capable of handling pressure situations both mentally and physically.
