As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will be responsible for driving the software which supports international expansion efforts. A successful candidate will have an established background in setting product, technical, and architectural vision on building technology that enriches the customer experience at scale, and diving deep to work across codebases to drive meaningful changes that impact the customer. You’ll work on customer-facing features and capabilities, affect the underlying architecture that brings music to our customers, and be exposed to the inner workings of Alexa Music. This role will involve working with various Alexa Services and Music partners to solve key customer and engineering problems and ensure our product is supported in and scaling to international marketplaces. You’ll also need to identify areas to innovate how we launch Alexa around the world, and build tools and automation to support expansion at scale. Additionally, as a senior SDE, you’ll advise senior leadership of technical opportunities and pitfalls to ensure long term rapid delivery of customer features.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (MS, Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.)
8+ years experience managing software development teams
Experience with the tools of the trade, including a variety of modern programming languages (Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Objective C) and open-source technologies (Spring, Hibernate)
Development experience on multiple Platforms (J2ME, BREW, Cocoa, Symbian, Google Android, Series 60, Series 40, Windows Mobile, PalmOS, IE, Safari, FireFox) and mobile devices (Apple iPhone, RIM Blackberry, Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony Ericsson)
Experience delivering large, cross-functional projects
Preferred Qualifications
MS, Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
A track record of communicating well with executives and non-technical leaders
Experience with some hands-on architectural or distributed systems experience ideal
