Job Description

We are looking for a problem solver with a track record of success in retail or real estate to join our expanding team. The Business Analyst – Real Estate Planning leads projects to develop meaningful and actionable intelligence to guide the development of real estate strategy and storecount expansion. You have business acumen and highly relevant experience in physical retail, real estate, and / or market analysis. You will use your experience to drive sophisticated analysis on our business and on growth opportunities. The Business Analyst will work closely with cross functional partners, including GIS / spatial analysts, real estate managers, finance, store development, and other stakeholders. You will own both highly tactical, short term projects; and longer term projects of high strategic importance.

The Business Analyst will be analytical, technically skilled, innovative, hands on, and customer focused. You will use your communication skills and business acumen to establish yourself as a thought leader around our real estate processes. You will be comfortable with ambiguity as we build out our team.

Responsibilities include:
  • Driving geographic expansion strategies for physical retail concepts
  • Ownership of long term studies of business trends and emerging opportunities
  • Fast turn ad hoc projects to answer site specific questions
  • Regular KPI tracking and reporting of our business health, and identification of potential challenges and opportunities
  • Writing and presenting technical documents for non-technical audiences
  • Working to support cross functional teams as needed
Basic Qualifications
  • BA/BS Degree
  • 5+ years’ experience with modeling, forecasting, statistical analysis, or other quantitative methodologies in a business environment
  • 5+ years’ experience in real estate, market planning, market research, or a related field in a retail organization
  • Highly proficient with MS Office tools
  • Track record of success managing complex projects
  • Ability to think strategically, while also able to dive deep into the details
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully influence multiple stakeholders and lead cross functional teams across geographies and business units
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organization skills, and ability to manage multiple projects / responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience working with GIS / spatial analytical tools
  • Experience with SPSS or other statistical software packages
  • Experience working with large data sets; experience with SQL and with data visualization tools like Tableau
  • Strong written or verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to roll up sleeves and execute to get the job done
  • Ability to work in an ever changing environment with competing priorities
  • High level of business acumen, including successful P&L management
  • The ability to think strategically, anticipate future trends, develop product roadmaps, and deliver on those plans
