The Spectrum Networks Recruiting Leadership role is based in New York City, and will support this 1600 person local news and regional sports networks organization, spread across the country. This leader will manage a team of approximately 5-8 recruiting team members in various locations.
The successful candidate must have a solid understanding of editorial and production recruitment. S/he must be able to empathize and relate to news/sports networks recruitment challenges, and can operate in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment that includes a 24/7 news cycle and content distribution through new media.
This leader will be a “roll-up the sleeves” leader, team builder, coach and mentor with a strong business orientation and the passion and technical skills of a “top notch” recruiter. S/he will develop and implement a Recruitment strategy that enables Spectrum Networks to recruit top talent as well as create a best in class candidate and hiring manager experience. This will include proposing tactical and strategic recruiting solutions, developing project plans as necessary, and ultimately ensuring the recruitment team is appropriately aligned and set up for successful execution.
This people leader will develop strong partnerships with HR leaders and key business stakeholders to ensure timely understanding of the organization’s current and future talent needs and related recruiting demands. S/he will guide leadership on recruitment life cycle best practices, appropriate recruitment channels, diversity planning/inclusion, and market conditions/strategies while helping drive education and training around talent acquisition initiatives, processes and best practices.

Talent Acquisition Expertise
Provides leadership guidance and oversight of Spectrum Networks recruiting efforts, honing a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy while continually seeking to improve the overall process and quality of talent (including both experienced and campus hires) brought into the organization
Models, monitors and ensures best in class hiring manager and candidate care through the entire recruiting lifecycle
Provides leadership guidance and oversight to our screening and selection processes in evaluating potential candidates
Leads, and if needed, owns, end to end recruiting for assigned searches

People Leadership
Manage a team of recruiters, including requisition assignments, workload balancing, challenge resolution, relationship building, process alignment/execution, prioritization, performance management, hiring, onboarding, training and coaching

Employment Branding
Identifies and selects media, technological and social solutions that support Spectrum Network’s employment brand and talent acquisition strategy, in partnership with Recruiting Services

Designs and implements metrics that evaluate all talent acquisition programs and initiatives across the assigned recruiting function; ensures sound data entry best practices take place within systems of record, in a timely and consistent manner, to deliver and sustain insightful/accurate recruitment results reporting for stakeholders at appropriate cadences

Recruitment Programs/Requirements
Develops and implements diversity recruitment strategies and participates in applicable national and industry recruiting conferences
Builds and provides oversight to an employee referral program. Develops ways to engage employees to be our employment brand ambassadors
Oversees compliance to all regulations that impact the hiring and selection process

Partners with HR leaders and key business leaders in developing sourcing plans and determining hiring requirements

8+ years Recruiting/Talent Sourcing experience
5+ years people management experience
A successful track record of managing and multi-tasking in a fast-paced media- oriented recruiting function, with strong problem solving and follow-up skills, while managing multiple and shifting priorities
Expert knowledge of social recruiting trends and technologies; knowledge and experience with sourcing, engagement, interviewing techniques and candidate assessments
Familiarity with, and appreciation for, media-specific networking events and sourcing channels
Track record of project management experience, driving process improvement and change management
Ability to understand and present data and metrics to validate performance, trend analysis and validate process improvements (steps in status, time to fill, attrition, survey data, etc.)
Ability to gain credibility and build relationships with hiring managers and executive leadership; capable of influencing up, laterally and throughout all levels of the organization
Proven leadership ability; strong mentoring skills; ability to supervise the work of others
Excellent candidate engagement, relationship building, management and negotiation skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
Strong business planning and forecasting skills
Ability to document, prepare and present executive level presentations
Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Ability to travel to other Spectrum Network stations, including those in California, Florida and Texas on a quarterly basis
