Job Responsibilities/Tasks:

Research and analyze cybersecurity threats, recommending policy updates and enhancements to strengthen DHS digital security.

Assist management with developing and implementing cybersecurity procedures, ensuring the documentation is up to date with DHS policies and federal regulations.

Monitor the security environment by reviewing event logs and detecting potential incidents, ensuring that security breaches are promptly addressed in line with DHS protocols.

Provide technical support and guidance on security issues, assisting team members and users in resolving cybersecurity incidents.

Review and manage user access control logs to ensure only authorized personnel have access to critical systems and sensitive data.

Collaborate with internal DHS teams to ensure security best practices are followed and consistently applied across the organization.

Conduct regular security audits and assist with policy reviews to ensure the organization’s cybersecurity posture meets DHS compliance standards.

Prepare reports and presentations for management on cybersecurity vulnerabilities, incidents, and mitigation measures.

Stay informed on emerging cybersecurity threats, recommending strategies and improvements to enhance the security posture of DHS infrastructure.

Respond to security incidents, including intrusions, malware, and data breaches, and lead the team in implementing appropriate remediation measures.
