What You Will Be Doing

This is a unique opportunity for an Accountant with 3-5 years experience in healthcare/senior living environment to further develop their accounting skills within the real estate industry. Under limited supervision, responsible for accounting and/or clerical duties of a complex nature in support of accounting functions. Assist in preparing of monthly/quarterly financial statements in accordance with GAAP with all supporting documentation. Responding to any inquiries received from corporate, property management, and administrative departments.

  • Prepare, map and upload operator provided general ledgers into MRI
  • Perform general ledger account reconciliations
  • Prepare clear and concise monthly balance sheet and income statement variance explanations
  • Ability to think analytically and research for transactions as needed
  • Support the month-end close process & meets tight schedule requirements
  • Prepare timely & accurate supporting schedules and analysis
  • Review general ledger activity to ensure accurate coding
  • Assist Accounting Manager with proposing and executing process improvements to increase effectiveness and efficiency of the department
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Making sound, independent judgments within established policies and procedures
  • Organizing own work, setting priorities and meeting critical deadlines
  • Effectively communicate with co-workers, managers, and subordinates
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Intermediate excel skills including pivot table and v lookup.

What You Need for this Position

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.

3-5 years of previous accounting experience in healthcare/senior living environment (prefer experience in the real estate industry).

Must be familiar with PC applications such as MS-Excel and MS-Word.

Experience with MRI accounting systems a plus.
