What you’ll be doing...
Exciting opportunities exist within our Sales Engineering organization for Solutions Architects (SA). This position represents an opportunity to become an integral part of a talented team helping our clients’ Digital Transformation. The Verizon Solution Architect plays a meaningful role in building long-term business relationships within assigned “named” accounts. This is a high-impact role working closely with Client Executives to drive the adoption of our services to meet our sales and revenue goals by closing enterprise transactions within accounts.

You will seek to build deep, consultative technical relationships with your customers, effectively becoming a trusted adviser. An SA is ideally positioned to understand the customer's high-level objectives, and match these to Verizon solutions in order to satisfy business and technical requirements.
An SA is comfortable presenting Verizon’s value proposition, technologies, strategy, and product roadmaps to all levels at their customer including executives, technical management, and technical engineers.
Once an opportunity is identified, you're a critical member in developing the solution and moving it towards closure. Typical activities include building high-level design and architecture drawings, technically validating the solution with the customer, assisting with the preparation of a formal proposal and helping the Client Executive develop business cases required to get support to drive business forward. An SA leads solution definition and champions the resolution of gaps internally. Strong customer and relationship building skills, coupled with listening and selling skills to help you see the “big picture” and develop creative solutions to your client’s challenges.
Everyone is responsible for pipeline growth. A great SA always seek to identify a new customer opportunity or demand for Verizon solutions in their named accounts.
You will constantly seek to develop your skillset and knowledge of Verizon technologies, industry direction, and competitor’s solutions via enablement and internal training. As a group, SAs communicate and collaborate with their peers and colleagues on trends, product feedback, customer success, etc.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Relevant experience in the tech industry with experience in pre-sales, customer-facing consulting or other relevant technical experience.
Gathered industry knowledge and experience in areas such as Software Defined Networking (SDN), IT infrastructure and systems security, cloud or network systems management, and business continuity
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
Even better if you have:
Master’s degree in engineering or computer science.
Four or more years of relevant experience in the tech industry with experience in pre-sales, customer-facing consulting or other relevant technical experience.
Gathered industry knowledge and experience in areas such as Software Defined Networking (SDN), IT infrastructure and systems security, cloud or network systems management, and business continuity.
Run multiple projects or deals under tight timelines.
Security, architecture, and industry certifications such as AWS Solution Architect, Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK), CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Design or Network Associate (CCDA, CCNA), ITIL Foundations, or similar.
Hands on experience. It could be implementing or designing two or more of the following: Data and IP Services (MPLS, SIP, internet, VPN, SDN, NFV); Managed Operations (WLAN, LAN, WAN, Managed IP PBX); Security Services (DDOS, FW, IDS, WAF, DDI, SIEM); Call Center Technologies (ACD, IVR, Client Portal, WebRTC); IT Applications Management (SOA, Web Services, application hosting, CDN, IaaS / PaaS / SaaS).
