is a rare and unique opportunity to join our Development Team in their mission to identify and develop real estate projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic, NY Metro, Philly Metro and New England regions.
Brightview Senior Living
is a privately held company based in Baltimore, MD, and we develop, manage and own high-end senior living communities that serve our discerning Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care residents. We opened our first community in 1999 and today Brightview operates over 40 communities in eight states, taking immense pride in our deliberate growth strategy of opening 3-5 new communities every year.
In this role, you will have responsibility for developing a pipeline of projects that are consistent with Brightviewas business plan objectives, while also managing the pre-development and development process. You will have the opportunity to work alongside and coordinate the efforts of a team of extremely skilled and dedicated Development Directors with the goal of researching potential markets and specific sites for future development, negotiating land purchase agreements and making presentations to a broad range of external constituents such as municipalities, community groups, land owners others to secure support, zoning and other approvals needed for development.
In addition, The Vice President of Development will also partner with our Project Management team to select architects, engineers, contractors, etc. , and our internal Operations team to provide support in coordination of the construction process and the lease-up of our Brightview Communities to ensure that our profit goals are met and exceeded.
Brightview is looking for a leader with a natural ability to build and foster relationships at all levels, and a capacity for keeping a finger on the pulse of the market trends, regulatory and competitive issues and other environment factors that may influence our business in the coming years. The opportunity will be based at our Home Office in Baltimore, and the role will require you to travel up to 50% of the time to our communities locally and out of state.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND TALENTS
Bacheloras degree from a four-year college or university in a business discipline and a minimum of ten years progressive real estate development experience; experience in senior living development not required.
Exceptional analytical skills and detail orientation.
Excellent written communication skills including proper grammar and professional writing.
Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with wide range of business partners; ability to present effectively to large and/or sophisticated public audiences.
Ability to apply reason, logic, and advanced problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues.
Ability to work with strict deadlines.
Experience negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships.
