Opportunity Summary:

Left Hand Design Corporation, a small manufacturer of aerospace hardware, located in Longmont, Colorado, requires an experienced full-time mechanical assembly technician of servo-controlled precision aerospace positioning mechanisms.

Duties:

* Mechanical assembly of complex small- to medium-sized mechanisms

* Alignment and balancing of complex mechanisms

* Work effectively with electronic technicians

* Work with engineers and administrative staff

* Test alignment and balancing accuracy

* Perform receiving inspection

* Perform environmental testing, in-process and performance testing

* Support customer interfaces

* Perform occasional vendor interfaces

* Operate theodolite

* Pack fragile hardware for safe shipment

* Follow assembly procedures

* Follow clean-room procedures

* Follow electro-static discharge procedures

* Mix and apply epoxy bonds

* Document assembly steps and test results

* Write Material Discrepancy Reports

* Maintain orderly laboratory

* Support the evolution of mechanical and electronic designs

* Support the evolution of assembly procedures

Qualifications:

* Experience in precision mechanical assembly

* Ability to handle small components

* Ability to handle static-sensitive electronic components

* Ability to operate in and maintain clean-rooms

* Understanding of aerospace laboratory environment is an added value

* Familiarity with industry-standard workmanship practices

* Ability to understand and follow directions and documented procedures

* Quality Control: history of minimal errors

* Ability to compose discrepancy reports is an added value

* Written and verbal skills

* Attention to detail and accuracy

* Ability to work efficiently at a reasonable pace

* Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner

* High integrity

* Dependability

* Self-starter with a proactive approach to job tasks

* Organized, self-disciplined and punctual

* Live in or near Boulder County
