Description of Duties/Essential Functions
Under general direction of the Human Resource Specialist, performs complex duties and specialized para-professional functions within the operations of the Human Resource Office. Processes personnel transactions for employees of the Chicago Veterans' Home following
current guidelines. Gathers data for transaction processing such as name and address changes,
leaves, resignations, promotions, etc. Prepares and processes documents to reflect changes in employees' insurance, Retirement System, and deferred compensation. Prepares and processes claims for employers' workers compensation claims. Prepares evaluations and reviews for completeness before forwarding for supervisor's review and signature.
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent of two years college or satisfactory completion of an approved training program. Requires working knowledge of Human Resource Programs, rules, regulations and collective bargaining agreements. Requires the ability to operate commonly used manual and automated office equipment systems and software and to perform routine maintenance. Requires ability to keyboard at 30 wpm.

Anticipated Salary Range: $3,938 - $4,346/month
Current BU Range $3,409- $4,759/month
Current BU Employees: Current Bargaining Agreement Language applies
8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
1 hour unpaid lunch
