The Rockefeller University Hospital is funded by the National Institutes of Health and has 20 patient beds for clinical research. The Hospital provides researchers with an opportunity to conduct clinical studies, and offers both normal volunteers and people with diseases under study the opportunity to stay in the hospital and help to contribute to important advances in science. The Hospital has an inpatient unit as well as an outpatient center where prospective patients are screened and many outpatient studies are conducted. The Hospital is staffed 24 hours a day with professional nurses and has nutritional research, social work, art and recreation departments, and a radiology suite as well as its own research pharmacy. The Systems Analyst will design, deploy and enhance the Cerner Community Works system and its interfaces as used by the Rockefeller University Hospital. Will provide technical guidance in Cerner design, implementation methods, application configuration, and functional/system support to the clinical research and institutional review board operations. The Systems Analyst will support all Hospital production sites and assist with Business Process Improvement. Responsibilities include working with Vendor, Project team, consultant, IT, and end users to implement system configurations/ enhancements for ongoing hospital operations. The Systems analyst must serve as a technical expert in the management of Cerner Community Works and Power Trail's use throughout the hospital as well as provide application systems and end user support of hospital used clinic applications. Will interact with users with updates on support tickets and follow proper troubleshooting procedure. The System Analyst must perform specialized programming tasks, schedule and conduct monthly end user training sessions, develop and maintain documentation related to system implementation/administration, handle maintenance and work in collaboration with the Hospital IT Manager and IT Staff. Additional responsibilities include preparing and maintaining systems and training documentation (electronic, audio and video), assisting in the development of processes and procedure for change/issue/defect management/performance improvement programs, mentoring and education staff, coordinating and establishing testing plans/scripts for use during implementations, and staying on top of system realizes. The Systems Analyst will be under the guidance of the Hospital IT Manager when participating and executing project and testing plans during all phases of the Cerner Community works and vendor communications processes to seek resolution to pending issues. Will schedule and conduct hospital department meetings, communicate assignments to the Hospital IT Manager and expectations to team members. Will track completion of deliverables to ensure quality and integrity, adapt and configure technology in compliance with FDA regulations and 21CFR Part 11 guidelines. The Systems Analyst will be the point of contact for team-designate support tickets and relay of appropriate tickets to system vendors. Other responsibilities include assisting with Quality Assurance/User Acceptance testing and writing support documents, capture/configure and design interfaces for Cerner applications and Clinical Research Information Systems to Business Owner' Functional and Technical Requirements. Will monitor Interface Error Queues, resolve integration issues, monitor patches/upgrades for new system releases, and any other duties assigned.
Bachelor' degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering or Business Administration required. Minimum of three years systems engineering support and maintenance experience. Two to five years of relevant experience in a healthcare informatics or clinical research setting with Cerner Community works preferred. Millennium software knowledge required. Experience with integration of lab systems with EMRs, working with reporting tools (i.e. Crystal Jasper iReport, SQL Developer, Tableau, Power Bl, Toad etc.) and ability to write simple to complex SQL queries for data extractions and Ad-Hoc reporting required. Must have strong technical skills and experience working with various database systems (ie. Oracle, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server) including stored procedures and functions.
