BestCo is currently searching for a Production Team Leader, 8 hour 1st shift, to be located at our Mooresville, North Carolina facility.
Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor, the Team Lead is responsible for ensuring efficient production right first time. The role requires a detail-oriented and conscientious operator, who can plan, multitask, and troubleshoot to accomplish production goals. The Team Lead is responsible for communicating and escalating problems that arise on the floor with the on-shift Supervisor.
Team Lead is responsible for relieving out, and at times, operating the Line 8 Cooker, Line 8 Batching System, Line 8 Coater Operation, and Line 8 Bottling.
The Team Lead will direct adherence to established safety, quality, and production standards ensuring all batch records and other documentation are complete/accurate, line clearances are performed, all required materials/components are ordered, area housekeeping/6S responsibilities are completed, and downtime and scrap are minimized. The Team Lead will also coordinate and monitor training of teammates and participate in trials, validations, and continuous improvement projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate the Line 8 Cooker, Line 8 Batching System, Line 8 Coater Operation, and Line 8 Bottling Line in accordance with associated SOP’s and Batch Records.
Coach/train/develop/mentor team members to achieve department safety, quality, and production goals, including changeover times, cleaning, first pass yield, documentation right first time, and processing and/or packaging OEE.
Communicate cross-functionally with safety, quality, maintenance, and warehouse support leaders, escalating issues that can impact safety, quality, or productivity and provide input for solutions.
Prepares for and participates in internal and external safety, 6S, and cGMP audits ensuring compliance with all FDA, OSHA and EPA requirements.
Conducts routine housekeeping inspections and observe team behaviors to ensure consistency with standard operating procedures and safety procedures/policies.
Contribute to investigations into safety, quality, and downtime events, determine root cause and develops effective corrective/preventive actions. Exercises due diligence to fully understand problems and communicate clearly
Supports thorough shift exchange with , operators, and production support.
Follows production schedule, predicts/plans production start and finish times for scheduling efficiency
Ensures right first-time production through ownership of the team’s activities, ensuring products are produced according to batch record instructions, and standard operating procedures
With support of the Supervisor, organize the team to provide optimal use of personnel, equipment and standard procedures. Ensures the best utilization of time during overlaps.
Motivates and communicates with team members to maintain good morale and adherence to work standards
Lead/Coordinate processing teams and activities during trials and validations in conjunction with the technical lead/engineer
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
At least 3 years of machine operator, or 1 year of Team Lead experience outside of BestCo, or 1 year of machine operator experience at BestCo.
Must be open to work any shift that is necessary depending on the business needs
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
Able to stand for long periods of time
Basic computer knowledge (must be able to log on and complete required cGMP/SOP/Safety training and communicate via email)
Prior experience in a cGMP/21CFR environment
Certified Production Technician through NCMI
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S and Kaizen events
Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Demonstrated troubleshooting ability, excellent attendance and safety record, strong work ethic
Ability coach and motivate employees
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required; must be able to communicate at all levels of the organization
Must be able to work independently under pressure in a fast-paced, team oriented, ever-changing manufacturing environment
Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office
Must be able to work with and support other departments to include Maintenance, Quality, Scheduling, Innovations, Procurement, and Warehousing.
