We are currently seeking candidates who are working towards obtaining a Bachelor's degree in (but not limited to) Biology, Bioengineering, or Chemical Engineering for an internship during the summer of 2020.
Objective/Goals of the Internship:
The goal is to examine the capabilities and accuracy of a new sensor system capable of wireless, real-time monitoring of cell concentration in small-volume and single-use bioreactors and to test its performance intern will work independently to design experiements.
The intern will work independently to design experiments. By the end of the internship, the candidate will thoroughly evaluate a novel technology.
Conduct searches of available literature, as well as internal data, to better understand how the sensor system technology will work
Understand and execute laboratory techniques such as aseptic techniques, and growing culture in various vessels, not limited to shake flasks and AMBR250s.
Execute own growth experiments to ensure a rich data set.
Aid in report writing of the evaluation.
The scope of this project is restricted to cell culture work.
Experience working in a laboratory setting
Experience with or understaning of asceptic techniques
Experience with MS Excel and statistics
Must be legally authorized to work in the US
Strong analytical, quantitative, and technical writing skills are required.
Good communication, organization skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential.
