The Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) organization is seeking a highly-motivated and experienced Mid-Level Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer / Scientist to join the Systems Integration team in St. Louis, MO. This position will serve as a member of a technical team developing Electromagnetic Effects including lightning, static charge, High Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF), electromagnetic compatibility, and electromagnetic interference for Boeing systems including aircraft, spacecraft and weapons systems.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Define and align design process to achieve concurrent design with structures and systems design
Analyze operational / functional requirements and develop structural and systems designs; derive and allocate requirements for system specifications and subsystem requirements
Apply knowledge of electromagnetics to defining, planning, analyzing and testing advanced concepts in system design
Support project management by providing coordinating development of work statement, budget, schedule and conducting appropriate reviews
Works under general direction

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering classification
3+ years of experience in engineering
Experience with Electromagnetic Effects
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with Computational Electromagnetic Techniques, and Computational EM software highly desired
Experience researching, developing, or evaluating electromagnetic effects requirements
Experience in Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3)
Hands-on experience with Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) / Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) testing / analysis / Mitigation
Experience using computational electromagnetic tools, such as FEKO or CST
Typical Education / Experience:
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
