As a Commission Analyst, you will be responsible for all phases of NetSpend’s partner commission cycle and making improvements to the underlying Commission and Billing System. Your primary function is to ensure that commissions are paid on time, commission statements are accurate, and new partners are configured correctly. If you have a blend of accounting and systems expertise, a strong eye for detail, and an interest in getting the job right, you could be the perfect candidate for our Commission Analyst position.
This position is responsible for managing, accounting for, and analyzing partner incentive and commission programs, as well as revenues related to these programs. The position interfaces with Sales, Account Managers and IT Development groups, in addition to all Accounting functions, to ensure the calculation and payment of commissions are accurate. The role also works closely with software development teams to make enhancements to the Commission and Billing System to ensure NetSpend is able to scale with the ever growing and changing needs of the business.
In order to be successful in this position, candidates must have extensive experience in analyzing large transactional volumes through database queries and resolving variance issues. In addition, candidates should have experience working with complex incentive commission programs, be detail oriented, and understand general accounting principles, as well as enjoy research and problem solving assignments.
Configure partner commission and billing structure through a series of SQL insert statements
Evaluate contracts and amendments to ensure terms are aligned with commission and billing system capabilities
Ensure that all commission statements and payments have been processed as scheduled
Work closely with IT Development teams to build new functionality into the Commission and Billing System
Manually calculate commissions for partners whose commission structures are not supported by the Commission and Billing System
Write SQL queries to perform ad-hoc research and analysis
Provide detailed variance analysis and account reconciliations
Respond to internal and external customers in a professional and timely manner
Assist with month-end close and audit activities
Monitor SOX and SAS70 requirements
3 or more years of relevant accounting and financial analysis experience
Experience reviewing contracts and outlining relevant terms and condition
Advanced knowledge of SQL is a must
Proficient with advanced spreadsheets and databases, including Access and Excel
Analytical mind set, strong mathematical skills and attention to detail are a must
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and meet strict deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills and business acumen, with experience interfacing across multiple business units
Strong customer service skills (internal and external) with excellent trouble shooting and problem resolution abilities
Experience with ERP systems preferred
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or other relevant field preferred
