Job Description
Sunflower Bakery is looking for dynamic individuals to serve as job coaches for Sunflower workforce training graduates. The primary function of Sunflower job coaches will be to support assigned individuals to achieve and sustain employment, which may entail assisting with job searches, training, advancement, and communicating with employers to ensure expectations align with performance.
General Responsibilities
● Implement customized employment program to ensure skills and abilities match work site opportunities.
● Get to know individuals while still in training, to better assess holistic skills, abilities and support needs .
● Provide ongoing training for individuals on work duties. Assess individuals' strengths and weaknesses and determine appropriateness of job site for each individual. Make recommendations to supervisor as to the level of "fit" a potential existing position may have with an individual.
● Participate in the setup of new worksites in preparation for individuals beginning their employment. Gain an understanding of the job duties, worksite culture and any additional expectations of the employer.
● Develop natural supports and other accommodations necessary to ensure employee’s success.
● Develop and maintain good relationships with the employers. Gain an understanding of their needs and expectations, serves as a liaison between the individual and the employer, assisting with clarification and issues resolution as needed.
● Maintain an information file on each individual supported; ensure the content is current and the confidentiality of the information is maintained.
● Monitor individual's progress against agreed-upon goals, and document progress, as required, on documentation sheets. Provide regular reports to the Employment
Manager on the individual’s performance.
● Inform program director of any changes in schedule, jobs duties, etc.
● Provide ongoing supports to caseload with fading over time, assist with any special needs and provide necessary supervision on and off job site. Implement individual behavioral plans, as needed
● Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
● Requires a minimum of 2-year experience with adults with developmental disabilities, preferably in work services.
● High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
● Experience working in a kitchen as a chef or chef assistant, or customer service experience a plus
● Strong organizational skills and ability to keep detailed records
● Ability to provide concise and accurate reports in a timely manner
● Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
● Valid driver's license and ability to get to multiple job locations throughout Montgomery county and surrounding areas.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
