Little Inspirations is seeking strong Lead infant-toddler teachers who are fully vaccinated and serious about giving top quality early childhood experiences to children ages six weeks through preschool. We are a nature and play based early childhood center with a team of teachers who are excited about the importance of what we do!
Qualified candidates will have solid experience working in a DCFS licensed childcare center, a college education in child development, early childhood education or related field. Transcripts, a background check, DCFS medical report and proof of vaccination required upon hire.
Responsibilities include, and are not limited to caring for infant through preschool aged children, teaching life skills and maintaining a healthy care environment. All children and staff required to wear masks. PPE is provided. Only children, staff and workers essential to our operations are allowed in our centers in order to keep our community healthy and safe!
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field conferred or bachelor's or master's degree in process.
- 3+ years experience working with infants & toddlers in a childcare / early educational setting.
- Completion of medical health report, complete background verification and other DCFS required trainings.
- Demonstrated positive history of collaborative experience on a team of problem solvers in an action packed, social environment.
Critical Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Collaboratively work with other teachers, parents and support staff.
- Care for all aspects of safety, health & holistic age appropriate development.
- Develop, document & implement child centered play & project based curricula.
- Prepare child centered experiences for seasonal, project-based curriculum.
- Promptly & properly clean up after all classroom activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents: daily updates, weekly overviews & seasonal conferences.
- Attend seasonal family events, monthly meetings and professional development seminars.
- Arrange & maintain an optimal classroom environment for children’s safety, development, exploratory play and effective daily flow.
- Maintain classrooms according to Illinois DCFS Standards (Part 407)
- Communicate with the director any difficulties in maintaining the classroom in accordance to Illinois DCFS Standards (Part 407)
- Adhere to all policies in the current Little Inspirations Faculty Handbook.
Desired Competencies:
- Strong developmental knowledge of children ages 6 weeks – 30 months.
- Exceptional verbal & written communication skills
- Work well in a fast paced, physically & socially engaging environment
- Positive, collaborative attitude that enhances team productivity and morale
- Strong use of best judgement to problem solve towards the best results in each situation
