Job Highlights: MITRE has a full time opening for a Lead Photographer/Video producer responsible for camera operations, lighting, photography, editing and maintain a searchable catalog of images. We are looking for a passionate photographer to capture moments on film and to use images to tell a story. The successful candidate will be able to achieve technical, qualitative and quantitative goals while meeting project’s needs and deadlines.

Key Functions:
Must have 10 plus years in portrait and event photography; be able to change environments for photo production. A portfolio sample work of events, headshots and portraits is required.
Must have significant knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, and Lightroom, and demonstrated workflow in photography.
Along with still photography, must have knowledge of Canon DSLRs and Sony XDCAMS for video production.
Support relationships with senior internal customers, stakeholders, and staff.
Promote use of stills and video as a primary communication channel.
Provide setup use and breakdown of gear for video and photo shoots, either solo or as part of a team.
Work with a creative brief to understand goals and specifications; work closely with the art team to develop concepts.
Capture and process images until desired results are achieved.
Work with our clients to produce candid shot images.
Set up lighting and stage environments to adhere to specifications and to achieve desired results.
Provide directives for subjects on a photo shoot.


Required Skills:
Advanced photography skills: position requires advanced knowledge of: Lighting (Flash and Steady light), Composition, exposure, Stitch, photography, Focus stacking, Photoshop, Lightroom
Required: advanced knowledge and experience with standard multimedia development tool suite: Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premier, and After Effects.
Significant knowledge and experience operating production equipment both in studio and on location: cameras, lighting, microphones, etc. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively.
Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications and familiarity with both Windows and Macintosh platforms.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to initiate and foster collaborative relationships both internally and externally.
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and respond to changing schedules and priorities.
Must be comfortable in interacting with senior staff, customers and stake holders as a representative of Strategic Communications.
Provide portfolio of eye-catching photos that advance the storytelling objectives of the client.
BS with 5-8 hears of related experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Communications, Television Production, Film or related field. 8-10 years of relevant experience, preferably in a production environment.
Must have expert knowledge in DSLR gear, support equipment: Digital recorders, flash, steady lights, backgrounds etc.
Audio experience, Cinema 4D and After Effects are a plus.
