Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute is an in-patient state psychiatric hospital located in Falls Church, VA that provides contemporary psychiatric nursing care to individuals in acute phase of mental illness. The Northern Virginia area is an internationally diverse, family-friendly region that is situated only minutes away from Washington DC and all its cultural/historical attractions. We are seeking an Afterhours Hospital Nursing Supervisor to provide continuity of care through collaboration with Nursing Unit Managers and other After-hours Nursing Supervisors. This position involves working any shift. The position supports the hospital mission by ensuring delivery of comprehensive person-centered patient care that promotes health and well-being as well as recovery through the supervision and direction of nursing staff on all units on a designated shift reports. The successful candidate will have the ability to plan, organize and supervise unit-based and hospital-wide comprehensive nursing activity and patient care delivery. He/she will also have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, administration, the public and other community agencies. Ability to effectively manage multiple, changing priorities in a fast paced environment.
-Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or in a compact state is required. -Prior RN supervisory experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting required.
Considerable experience in hospital after-hours supervision and management strongly preferred.
